A summary of the Association’s submissions during 2012-11
is set out below; the full submission is available via the link. New submissions
will be added as they are lodged.
Submissions to Treasury re:
Tax deductibility of premiums paid by superannuation funds for TPD cover;
Contributions cap for individuals aged 50 and over, making the point that
the Government’s proposal to restrict the higher contribution cap to the
group with savings under $500,000 would result in large and unnecessary
administrative burdens on funds, their members and government agencies,
and urging a simpler solution;
Draft legislation for My Super Core provisions, seeking clarification
of several aspects of the draft and also supporting the Law Council’s
submission which noted technical difficulties arising from presenting
piecemeal legislation; and
Capital gains tax relief, arguing that because of continuous reform and
rationalisation in the superannuation industry that relief should be extended
significantly beyond September 2011
